Who am I and why working in the subtitling sector?

To briefly introduce myself, my name is Fabien and I was born on the 25th December 1988 in the French city of Saint-Étienne. After graduating from a Master’s Degree in Multimedia Translation and doing a final internship in a subtitling agency, I started my own translation business. Quickly, I had to handle TV shows, institutional videos and webinars subtitling projects. Why this blog and not a social media page?

When I was working on my website, I asked myself the following questions: how could I provide you contents related to your multilingual subtitling needs? On a social media? On a blog? I then came to the following conclusions:

• On one hand, my posts on social media would be limited in terms of character numbers and subject matters;
• On the other hand, my blog articles would address many more topics from top to bottom.

Consequently, I chose the second option.

With this third and last theme, I will analyse the current and future trends of the subtitling market. If applicable, I will prove to you if they positively impact the sector.
